Outstanding Student Volunteer - Navneeth Chandran

Navneeth Chandran is a passionate, confident and vibrant IEEE volunteer. From an active IEEE student Volunteer to Student Branch Executive Committee member and now serving as the Computer Society Chair of the Student Branch College of Engineering Adoor. His services, volunteering and leadership skills in IEEE and other organizations like NSS are also highly appreciable.

He is also volunteering as the IEEE Day Ambassador in Region 10. He has also served as the past IEEE SB Link Representative, IEEE SB Student Ambassador in the Computer Science Department and IEEE Student Member. He took great initiatives such as “Classroom”- An initiative for IEEE members, which invites members to get a deep understanding of the technology they wish to know more about, “Skill Plus” – A platform for skill-enhancing exclusively for IEEE Members mainly focusing on boosting the technical and managerial skills.

Apart from IEEE, his extracurricular activities and other volunteering activities are also greatly appreciated. He was recently awarded the NSS Best Volunteer Award in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. He is also volunteering for Kerala State IT Mission : Project ‘Mapathon Keralam’ as a cartographer and resource person for internships. He actively volunteered in Flood Relief works 2019, Covid-19 Management works 2020 – 2021.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science engineering from the college of engineering Adoor and He did his school education from AKG Smaraka Government Higher Secondary School Peralassery, Kannur, Kerala. In his free time, Navneeth likes to read and think. He is an organizer with soft skills and has a focus on learning. The aim is to become the vision for humans. His other strengths are conflict resolution, active listening, presentation and collaboration, teamwork, writing, drawing and painting.

Navneeth Chandran is now serving as the Computer Society Chair and Executive Committee member of the Student Branch, College of Engineering Adoor. He has also volunteered as the IEEE Day Ambassador in Region 10.

He has been actively volunteered and had organised,  Rubicon Science Week Celebration ,Engineers Day Celebration, IEEE Day Celebration -Illuminate, SB Anniversary Celebration, IEEE Xtreme – For XTREME we organized orientation sessions and conducted a coding lab under the platform of – CLASSROOM, REVITALIZE – It’s an article writing competition conducted as part of World Environment Day observation on the theme of “Ecosystem Restoration”, “Mission Sanitize” – It’s an astonishing hands-on workshop on ” Automatic Sanitizer Dispenser ” – It is a 3-day hands-on workshop conducted as part of “Mission Sanitize”, a project funded by the IES SBCLA GRANT – 2021, Membership Development Activities – We organized a series of orientation programs in our student branch with the name “Know Your society”, “QFIESTA” quiz series, “NCU CODATHON”.

In his past years of IEEE contributions, Navneeth Chandran served as the LINK Representative and Executive Committee member of the Student Branch, College of Engineering Adoor. He has also volunteered as the IEEE For Sustainable Future Summit (IFSFS) Ambassador – 2020 and IEEE SB CEA Student Ambassador in Computer Science Department.

He has been actively volunteered and had organised, “STEP – 2020” – STEP stands for Student Transition and Elevation Partnership – IEEE Power and Energy Society Kerala Chapter in association with IEEE SB CEA organized PES STEP 2020, SB 20th Anniversary Celebration, Recuerdame 1.0 & 2.0 – IEEE SB CEA in association with Power and Energy Society hosted a webinar series “Recurdame 1.0″&”Recuerdame 2.0”, to commemorate the birthday of great scientists Michael Faraday and Benjamin Franklin respectively.

Lucent 4.0 – It’ an orientation program organized for students with the title “Lucent 4.0â€. Which is the 4th version of the Lucent program.

Futura 3.0 – IEEE SB CEA’s star event was “FUTURA 3.0”. It’s an interactive session with curious and passionate minds out there.

He attended AICSSYC 2019 – All India Computer Society Student & Young Professional Congress 2019 at Anand- Gujarat, CSIS 2020 – Computer Society India Symposium, IFSFS 2020 – IEEE For Sustainable Future Summit 2020.

He was the first Volunteer who volunteered as an IEEE Day Ambassador of Region 10 in IEEE Student Branch, College of Engineering Adoor. He also volunteered in the position of IEEE Link Representative for IEEE Kerala Section, IEEE For Sustainable Future Summit (IFSFS) Ambassador – 2020, IEEE SB CEA Student Ambassador in Computer Science Department and IEEE Volunteer and organized so many activities in Student Branch, inter Student Branch and intersection.

His activities, teamwork, leadership style, volunteering skill and other soft skills are like a model for other volunteers in the College of Engineering Adoor. For his exemplary volunteering work in NSS, he was awarded the “Best NSS Volunteer Award in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University”. His other volunteering works are also well appreciated by the Deputy Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly, District Magistrate of Pathanamthitta – Kerala, State Nodal Officer of Telemedicine – National Health Mission, Mahatma Gandhi National Council Of Rural Education, Haritha Keralam Mission, Erath Gramapanchayath, College of Engineering Adoor and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University NSS Cell – Kerala.

Apart from IEEE,  He actively volunteered in Flood Relief works 2019, Covid-19 Management works 2020, Anganwadi Renovation, data collection of National Trust Act beneficiaries, promotion of telemedicine E-Sanjeevani, Aaroh Tech Fest and, in organizing team of Sattva Art Fest. He coordinated the activities of the National Service Scheme (The National Service Scheme is an Indian government-sponsored flagship for public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.) as a volunteer and program convenor. He received an appreciation letter from Adoor Constituency M.L.A, District Administration Pathanamthitta, Kerala State IT Mission, Haritha Keralam Mission, Erathu Grama Panchayat, State Nodal Officer of National Health Mission, APJAKTU NSS Cell.
