Outstanding Student Volunteer - Piyush Kumar Sahoo

Piyush Kumar Sahoo is a pre final year student of B.Tech in Biotechnology, pursuing Minors in Computer Engineering from Delhi Technological university.

He is quite fascinated towards machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Coming to his extra-curricular activities, he is a team player which enables him to conduct and manage many events and workshops under the IEEE organisation. One of his popular strengths is the versatile nature he imbibes and also he loves to see the situation not from one perspective but also from the other perspectives too.

From leading a designing team at Vihaan 4.0 to managing several webinars he has gained a substantial amount of experience to prove himself as a potential candidate for becoming a member of IEEE SSN. Apart from this he got an opportunity to work as a corporate member for various events like T-hacks, Glitch, Vihaan 4.0 & Crosswoc.

As a freshman he had volunteered to make several events at IEEE DTU SB a huge success like the Vihaan 3.0, Techweek, etc. Apart from this in his second year he worked towards development of IEEE DTU’s annual newsletter Echo (bit.ly/echoieee).

He feels that after holding important positions at different levels of IEEE and after getting experience to organise events and network with people, he feels as a proud recipient of a prestigious award like the Outstanding Student Volunteer Award.

He has a good experience in Managing events such as PBS smashthon ’19 Organized by Cubix DTU . Piyush believes himself to be a team player. He believes in conjuring up ideas to facilitate collaboration with his team with much better ways. Apart from this, he has also volunteered for social causes and outreach programs while he was collaborating with NSS DTU.
